Welcome to my web page. My name is Martina Dasnoy and I am a painter. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been passionate about the art world and filled my exercise books up with drawings. Music and dance were always present in my games. Later on, I studied Arts at University, but I still carried on drawing and painting and playing the scores of my favourite composers on the clarinet.
After I arrived in Spain, I decided to study Fine Art at the Complutense University in Madrid and devote myself to painting which was what I wanted to do most of all.
I have always admired and studied art from all ages, but I owe my direct pictorial influences to the artists of the XIXth and XXth centuries. Painters such as Matisse, Picasso, Kandinsky, Rothko, Miró and de Kooning, to name but a few, have left their mark on my artistic development.
I use a range of techniques when I am painting: oils, acrylics, collage, charcoal, pastels, brushes …
I also make chalcographic engravings, lithographs and use other multiple production techniques and I enjoy making compositions, turning old parts and objects into sculptures.
Come and visit my virtual gallery and I will tell you about the forthcoming events and exhibitions in which I will be taking part. If you wish, you can request information about a specific piece of work by filling in the form at the end of each picture file. If you want any advice, you can get in touch with me through the contact section.
